I Remember Dahlonega Vol. 2

   Volume 2 of  “I Remember Dahlonega; Memories of Growing up in Lumpkin County was published in 1992 by Chestatee Publications and reprinted in 1998.  The cover features an early photograph of  picturesque Cane Creek Falls, which once generated electric power for Dahlonega.    Chapter 4 reveals that some of the earliest usage of hydro-electric power in theU.S.took place on Lumpkin  County’s  Chestatee  River and has photos showing some early dams and power plants.

 

     Other chapters include Moonshining in Lumpkin County, the Railroad that Almost Came to Dahlonega, the Moore Family of Dahlonega, and the first Gold Rush Days celebrations.  The book contains342 pages, 39 interview articles, 115 historic photos, maps, and index.
